That’s some obsession – that a fan can buy an engagement ring and travel all the way from America to the UK to present it to the object of his affections. Especially when she doesn’t even know of his existence. So why would he spend a lot of money and travel across the Atlantic just to hear her say No? Well that’s what a lot of fan feeling is all about – obsession that goes beyond the realm of reason. He bought the ring from Tiffany’s and he paid over £3200 for it. It was a gold sapphire and diamond engagement ring and he was determined to go propose to the singer who is known to be a recluse. He also seems to be very enterprising and he got the exact location of her house through Google maps and then proceeded to get there. When he got there, he realised that she was not at home but broke in anyway and decided to wait for her. Maybe as he waited, it suddenly dawned on him that what he was doing was insane so he ran away in panic and it was while he was running that someone reported him and the police arrested him. He even had his suitcase with him which he was dragging along as he ran. His explanation was that he somehow felt very connected to the singer and he wanted to love and protect her. He has been deported now, back to America and hopefully Kate Bush can heave a sigh of relief.
